Put an app on your home screen
This gives you an icon on your phone, exactly like any other app. It opens full screen, with no browser bar.
iPhone and iPad
- Open the app link in Safari.
- Tap the Share button at the bottom: a square with an arrow going up.
- Scroll down the list. Tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add. The icon is on your home screen.
- From now on, open it from that icon.
Android
- Open the app link in Chrome.
- Tap the three dots at the top right.
- Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen.
- Tap Install. The icon is on your home screen.

Sign in with your email
This is the only thing that matters. Use the same email address you bought or subscribed with, and everything you have is already attached to it.
Tap Account, then Sign in
Then choose Email me a code instead.
Type your email
The exact address on your order or your membership. We send you an email straight away. Look for "Your sign-in link".
Type the code
The email has a 6-digit code, or a link you can tap. Either one signs you in. There is no password to remember.
Give everyone at home their own profile
In Alltone and NaturaRead, each person keeps their own place in a book and their own history. Profiles separate where you are, never what you own: whatever is on the account covers everybody.
Add the people at home
- Tap your name at the top of the screen. (Or Account, then Switch.)
- Tap Add profile. Give it a name, pick a picture, choose Adult or Kids.
- Up to 5 profiles on one account.
- Once there are two or more, the app asks who is listening when you open it. On your own, it never asks.
To rename someone, change their picture or remove them, tap Manage profiles on the same screen.
So each person uses their own phone
- Open Account and find Set a password for your household.
- Pick a password and save it.
- Everyone signs in on their own device with your email and that password.
- Up to 5 devices at the same time. Then each person taps their own profile.
HerbSense and HerbLens have no profiles. They simply work with your email.

Two ways in. A membership opens everything, with no limits. Our printed books come with a free year of limited access: a chosen selection, free, that never turns into a paid plan on its own.

The usual questions
I signed in but my books are not there
You are almost certainly signed in with a different email. Everything sits on the exact address you bought or subscribed with. Sign out, then sign in again with that one.
The email did not arrive
Give it a minute, then look in your spam and promotions folders. It is titled "Your sign-in link". In the app you can tap to send a new one. The code lasts about an hour and works once.
I bought the book on Amazon
Sign in with the email you used on Amazon, then add your Amazon order number once. Your year opens right away, and we check the order in the background within a day or two.
Do I have to install anything?
No. Every app opens in your browser, on any phone, tablet or computer. Installing from a store, or adding the icon to your home screen, just makes it quicker to open next time.
Can I listen with the screen off?
Yes. Start the audiobook, then lock your phone. The controls stay on your lock screen, like any music app.
Can I make a profile for my child?
Yes, choose Kids when you add the profile. It gives that child their own place in every book and their own history. It is a name, not a lock: there is no PIN, and everyone sees the same books.
Do I pay for any of this?
Only for what you chose to buy. The apps themselves are free to open, free books stay free, and a printed book already includes its free year. A membership is there if you want the whole library with no limits.
